Prospec Electronics recently donated a pair of 6-1/2-inch Infinity speakers to Aid Our Veterans, an organization that helps out-of-work and homeless vets.

Aid Our Veterans’ Annapolis, Md., chapter features a boating program that teaches valuable skills in boat repair, marine engine maintenance and even boating safety education. The skills learned there could lead to a career in the marine industry or a new way to enjoy life.

In 2012, the Annapolis chapter received a 36-foot Trojan Tricabin motoryacht donated by Joseph Carpenter, the first African-American colonel in the Marine Corps.

"This boat is a project and fishing boat, and is a way for veterans to spend a day on the water, catch fish, learn about seamanship, enjoy themselves and the company of their fellow service members," Jerry Mertz of Aid Our Veterans’ Annapolis, Md., chapter said in a statement. "It has already been used for temporary housing for wounded warriors and homeless veterans."

"We received a surround sound stereo system, but no outdoor speakers," Mertz said. "The Prospec speakers will be used on the bridge so that veterans can enjoy fine music. They are a much needed addition to our fleet."

Aid Our Veterans operates with a mission to help homeless and out-of-work veterans by supplying beds, shelters and homes for vets in America who have fallen on hard times. It provides assistance to men and women who have served the country, but now find themselves out of work and/or homeless. There are four chapters throughout the United States.
