OneWater Marine reported a 30 percent growth in revenue and a 25 percent increase in same-store-sales — in a year-over-year comparison — for their fiscal third quarter which ended on May 31. The operator of 63 stores in 11 states is confident these positive trends will continue. “As many summer activities that have historically competed for time on the water have been canceled, our customers are turning to boating as a safe, outdoor leisure activity that allows families to come together and maintain social distancing. As a result, the momentum we saw in April has continued as we moved through the quarter,” said OneWater CEO Austin Singleton in a statement.
Tropical Storm Cristobal is a record breaker. According to AccuWeather, the storm marks the earliest occurrence of a third named system in the Atlantic basin during any hurricane season in recorded history. It is forecasted to begin moving north toward the U.S. Gulf Coast from Texas to the Florida panhandle on Friday. Though it’s too soon to determine exact location, timing and magnitude, local authorities should monitor and make sure their hurricane plan is in place, according to the National Hurricane Center.
