West Marine is sponsoring the 2020 Coastal Conservation Association Florida STAR competition, a “catch-photo-release” fishing tournament where anglers can win prizes by sending in photos of both iHeart Radio Tagged fish and non-tagged fish. Interested parties would need to obtain a measuring device and guide from West Marine stores throughout Florida starting June 19, according to the company. Depoe Bay in Oregon was the chosen as the “Best Harbor in the U.S.” in the second-annual, crowdsourced competition held by Maine-based media and data company US Harbors. Depoe Bay was the first West Coast win; this year’s contest saw three Massachusetts harbors — Onset Beach, Padanaram in South Dartmouth (last year’s winner), and Cuttyhunk, Mass. — land in the top five.
