More boat ramp closures in Florida; Bassmaster event in Alabama postponed; Bahamas announce additional COVID-19 restrictions; Ford reassessing opening of North American facilities.

In an effort to help limit the spread of COVID-19 and discourage large gatherings of boaters at popular raft-up spots, all Manatee County, Fla. boat ramps are now closed to the public. Commercial fisherman will be exempt. There is no date set for reopening. 

The Bassmaster Elite at Lake Eufaula in Eufaula, Ala. has been postponed. The event was originally scheduled for April 2-5. No new date has been announced. 

The Prime Minister of the Bahamas announced an amended order effective through March 31 that includes nationwide curfews, the closing of most businesses, seaports and restrictions on travel. Full details here

Kumar Galhotra, president of Ford North America, released a statement yesterday announcing the motor company will not be reopening plants in North America — U.S., Mexico and Canada — on March 30 as originally scheduled. The company is working with the United Auto Workers and Unifor on timing to resume production.
