Azimut Yachts is the latest builder to host its own private boat show, starting today and running through Sept. 13. The Italian giant will utilize its Viareggio marina for tours and sea trials on a significant lineup of its vessels, including the new Magellano 25 Metri, Grande 25, 32 and 35 Metris, five boats from its Flybridge line, the S7 and the 45- and 51-foot Atlantis models. “[Our] private boat show is yet another initiative we have developed as we continue to seek new ways in these new times to foster and strengthen our cherished relationship with our clients,” the company said in a statement. The next iteration of the Abu Dhabi International Boat Show will be held Oct. 13-16, 2021, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company’s marina. This year’s event was slated to be held Oct. 14-17, but was canceled in mid-July. “The decision to postpone this event was the right choice to make, following our continued dialogue with exhibitors, participants, and stakeholders. We look forward to welcoming participants from across the world to the exhibition in 2021,” said ADIBS executive director Saeed Al Mansoori in a statement.
As Brunswick Corp is seeing continued strength in the marketplace, the company announced that it would restart its share repurchase program, which had been suspended earlier this year due to the uncertainty around Covid-19. Late last month, Brunswick announced repayment of the $85 million balance on its revolving line of credit. Brunswick CFO Ryan Gwillim said in a statement that Brunswick continues to see a “very healthy marine market” entering September that is driving the business’ strong cash flow performance. “We believe that resuming this element of our capital plan offers a tremendous opportunity to drive and increase shareholder value,” said Gwillim.
