RBFF program reaches milestone

The Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation’s Anglers’ Legacy program has reached 100,000 pledges at it approaches its three-year anniversary.

The program asks outdoor enthusiasts to preserve the legacies of boating and fishing by introducing at least one newcomer to the sport. An RBFF survey conducted last October indicates that Legacy Ambassadors purchase about $140 in fishing tackle and equipment, $153 in boating supplies and accessories, and more than three fishing licenses that support fish and wildlife management efforts through the Sport Fish Restoration Program.

"At 100,000 pledges, this means the program may have already generated $25 million for the boating and fishing industries and 170,000 new fishing licenses for states,” said RBFF president and CEO Frank Peterson, in a statement.
