The 56th annual Roton Point Multihull Regatta, an open regatta sanctioned by the New England Catamaran Sailing Association, will be held Sept. 18-20 on Long Island Sound in the Rowayton section of Norwalk, Conn.

The regatta is organized by the Roton Point Sailing Association and sponsored by Gosling Brothers Ltd. of Bermuda and its Black Seal brand of rum.

The event is open to all "beach" catamarans measuring less than 22 feet, organizers said. Separate starts are run for sufficient class registrations for one-design classes and an open class using Portsmouth handicap numbers.

The regatta also runs a separate one-design class for Hobie Getaways, of which Roton Point has its own fleet for member use. The regatta typically has entrants from among these classes: F20s, F18s, A-Class, Hobie 21s, Hobie 18s, Hobie 16s, Hobie Getaways, and "other."
