Registration opens for sailing conference

Sail America announced that registration is open for the 2012 Sailing Industry Conference, which will be held June 25-27 at the Newport Harbor Hotel in Rhode Island.

“Our 2012 Sailing Industry Conference has a fantastic lineup of speakers, captivating presentations and invaluable workshops that will exceed registered attendees’ expectations,” Sail America executive director Jonathan Banks said. “The preliminary buzz is very strong. We encourage people to register early so they don't miss the opportunity to participate in this fantastic conference.”

With its theme, “From Survive — to Thrive,” the conference will include a range of topics designed to provide new information and stimulate new thinking in the sailing industry.

Sail America members and organizations that register more than four people will receive a discount of more than 20 percent. Conference registration begins at $325 and includes a day and a half of seminars, a welcome reception on June 25, two lunches and transportation to offsite events.


Connecticut spring show adds charity benefit

The Connecticut Spring Boat Show will be held Friday May 4 through Sunday, May 6, at Brewer Essex Island Marina in Essex, Conn., and this year will be the first time that admission fees will benefit the charity SailsUP4Cancer

AIM announces new hires

Catapult Creative Labs, the internal marketing communications agency of Active Interest Media, has hired Andrea Kupfer as vice president, account executive and Christina Erb LoVullo as creative services director. Kupfer will lead Catapult’s long-term sales growth and profitability and Erb LoVullo will oversee marketing and creative services.
