Retired CG Officer Joins Commonwealth PR

Commonwealth Public Relations and Marketing announced in a statement that 20-year Coast Guard public affairs officer Chad Saylor joined its team as an account executive.

Saylor retired from the Coast Guard in 2019.

“It’s difficult to find employees that live and breathe the marine industry and its associated specialties, but we found one with Chad,” Brian Chandler, founder and CEO of Commonwealth PR, said in the statement.

Saylor will be involved with strategic planning, media relations, public relations, event planning, lobbying, and digital and social-media marketing.

“Chad is able to bring a distinctive knowledge of the safety aspect of boating, but also an extensive understanding of consumer-facing marine brands, crisis communications and more,” Chandler added.

Current and former Commonwealth PR clients include Sea Tow Services International, Sea Tow Foundation, Personal Watercraft Industry Association, Shakespeare Marine, Barker Boatworks, and the American Sportfishing Association.
