Safety and Survival Systems International Ltd (3Si) said it has appointed Nick Howland as president of 3Si Americas and as a board director of the 3Si Group.

The group’s companies include Ocean Safety, Typhoon International, International Safety Products, 3Si Offshore and Revere Survival.

The appointment was effective Monday. Howland will be based at Revere Survival’s headquarters in Jacksonville, Fla.

“I am delighted to welcome Nick to the 3Si Group,” Andrew Richards, CEO of 3Si, said in a statement. “ He brings a wealth of experience to the team and will play an instrumental role in our strategic development, as we continue to expand our sales and service network globally.”

3Si said Howland has more than 20 years of experience in the marine and defense industries. Most recently he was managing director of Great Bridge Capital Advisors, a management consulting firm focused on helping private equity clients grow their marine and defense portfolio companies.

Before that, he was vice president and managing director of Survitec Group Americas. He was also an executive at Safariland Group and at Raytheon Co., and served four years as a U.S. Naval officer, completing tours aboard the USS Chandler (DDG 996) and SBU-22.
