Sail magazine debuts boat-review app

Sail magazine recently launched the New Sailboat Review iPad app, available on Apple's iTunes.

Sponsored by Vetus-Maxwell, the NSR iPad app features 43 boat reviews of every production sailboat new to the market for 2011, as tested by Sail's editorial experts.

The app's interactive media features more than 300 images, photo galleries, editorial video, boat drawings with zoom capabilities, special tools for boat comparisons, featured advertisers and dealer search.

“Throughout the development process of the New Sailboat Review iPad app we learned firsthand that the iPad is an ideal platform for delivering multimedia content about sailboats to discerning users,” Sail publisher Josh Adams said in a statement. “This app gives sailors and boat buyers the tools they need to compare the market’s fleet of new sailboats.”

Users can download the app at iTunes for $2.99.
