Sail magazine set to review best-boat nominees in Newport

At the Newport International Boat Show, which opens Thursday, Sail magazine will begin to review nominees for its 2018 Best Boats awards program.

Last spring, Sail sent solicitations to boatbuilders to survey every new sailboat making its U.S. debut.

Sail featured the 2018 Best Boats nominees in its September issue, online at sailmagazine.com and in the Under Sail e-newsletter.

A team of Sail editors and judges will review this year’s class in 10 categories.

The Best Boats winners will be featured in the magazine’s December issue. Videos of the recipients also will be available at sailmagazine.com.

The awards program is sponsored by DAN Boater, a marine safety association.
