Scanstrut Hires Design Director

U.K.-based equipment manufacturer Scanstrut announced in a statement the hiring of Nigel Smith for the newly created position of design director.

Smith has more than three decades of industrial design experience, holds numerous patents and has been the recipient of several awards, including a British Design Award, several DAME Category wins and Pittman Innovation Awards.

“We’re delighted to have Nigel join our talented team of designers and engineers,” CEO Tom Reed said in the statement. “His experience, industry knowledge and passion for developing innovative, high-performing products will fit perfectly with our ethos and ambitions.”

Smith most recently was head of design at Lewmar, a position he held for 10 years.

“Scanstrut has always presented themselves in a highly professional manner with a strong customer focus,” Smith said. “They consistently design, manufacture and deliver innovative products, beautifully presented and backed-up by an agile, young and dynamic team.”
