NMDA Presents Supplier Awards
The National Marine Distributors Association yesterday announced in a statement that it presented its Supplier of the Year Awards during the organization’s annual S.T.E.P. Conference this week in Rosemont, Ill.
Sea-Dog Line won in the Diamond category. The company, based in Everett, Wash., supplies more than 5,500 dock, deck and rigging hardware items, as well as 12-volt electrical/lighting and ventilation accessories. The runner-up in this category was T-H Marine.
Pensacola, Fla.-based ARCO Marine, which manufacturers alternators, inboard and outboard starters, and tilt/trim motors, won the Platinum category. The runner-up was Star brite.
Cleaner, wax and polish manufacturer Meguiar’s took the Gold category, while trailer, fishing and boating supply manufacturer C.E. Smith was awarded runner-up.
Special Focus awards in each category were also presented, according to the statement. Sea-Dog Line took Diamond in the Best All-Around Packaging, Marketing Philosophy and Supply Chain Standards Efficiency categories. Platinum winners in those categories were Gold Eagle, Star brite and ARCO Marine. Gold winners were Meguiar’s (two categories) and C.E. Smith.
The wholesale distributor members of NMDA have voted annually since 1972 to recognize top suppliers for overall excellence in supply-chain management, marketing, packaging and shipping, and customer service.
