Buoyed by beautiful weather and lower fuel prices, more Florida boaters took to the water this holiday season compared to last year, according to Sea Tow International.

Sea Tow franchises in the Sunshine State reported a 38 percent increase in on-water assistance calls between Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day, and nearly all locations reported a general increase in boating traffic.

Sea Tow’s national 24-hour call center saw a 53 percent rise in calls for assistance over 2007.
