Simpson Marine completes its largest order in China

Simpson Marine announced it signed a contract to supply a fleet of 33 Lagoon sailing catamarans to a customer in China.

The fleet will comprise a mix of Lagoons ranging in size from 40 to 62 feet and will be used by Tiger Club World to introduce its members to the pleasures of yachting.

“This is the largest ever single order of yachts for delivery into the growing China market, eclipsing the order for 30 Beneteau First 40.7s for the China Cup five years ago,” said Mike Simpson, managing director of Simpson Marine, whose head office is in Hong Kong, in a statement. “Simpson Marine is uniquely able to complete this type and size of deal. We have been active in the China market for many years and now have a network of offices and service centers covering the South China coast.”

The 33-yacht fleet will begin construction within the next few months and will be delivered from late 2011 through 2012.

AIM announces new hires

Catapult Creative Labs, the internal marketing communications agency of Active Interest Media, has hired Andrea Kupfer as vice president, account executive and Christina Erb LoVullo as creative services director. Kupfer will lead Catapult’s long-term sales growth and profitability and Erb LoVullo will oversee marketing and creative services.
