Soundings Trade Only Names Staff Editor

Active Interest Media named Dom Yanchunas staff editor with Soundings Trade Only.

“Dom’s 27 years in journalism, both as a reporter and editor, make him an ideal choice for this role,” Soundings Trade Only editor-in-chief Gary Reich said. “He has spent most of his professional life in the business-to-business and maritime publishing spaces, and I know his broad knowledge about the global economy, financial markets, supply chains and the marine trade will be an asset to the reporting readers will find in Soundings Trade Only.”

Most recently, Yanchunas reported on the U.S. steel industry for American Metal Market, part of Euromoney Institutional Investor. He was affiliated with Professional Mariner magazine for a decade, serving as editor-in-chief from 2013 to 2016. He also was a writer and editor with the Associated Press, Bloomberg News and several daily newspapers. He was the national president of the American Society of Business Publication Editors from 2017 to 2019.

“Recreational boating has emerged as one of the most dynamic and interesting industries during the current global situation,” Yanchunas said. “I hope to leverage my experience in marine journalism and coverage of manufacturing supply chains to help all market participants gain the insights they need to thrive.”
