South Carolina trade group merges with NMMA

The South Carolina Marine Association integrated with the National Marine Manufacturers Association, a move that NMMA president Thom Dammrich says will “provide synergies” with the larger marine industry in the boating region.

The SCMA board of directors will become an advisory board to the NMMA.

Suzi DuRant — former executive director of the SCMA — will remain involved as the executive director of NMMA South Carolina.

“We plan to explore new growth opportunities for all members where we can leverage our extensive event production and marketing communications experience,” Dammrich said in a statement. “Additionally, our government relations and advocacy, market research and statistics, and certification programs will bring new opportunities and create exciting change for our South Carolina boating community.”
