Speakers set for World Marinas Conference

Amsterdam RAI, organizer of the International Council of Marine Industry Associations World Marinas Conference, announced the speaker lineup for the June 2-4 event in Istanbul.

More than 40 experts will speak, including Gary Groenewold of Westrec Marinas, who chairs the Association of Marina Industries, Matthew Bate of the Dogus Marinas Group, and Julian Goldie of The Yacht Harbour Association.

The conference will be a learning experience for professionals in the marina and nautical tourism fields. A global audience of specialists will come together in Istanbul to exchange knowledge and learn from each other’s best practice.

“The ICOMIA Marinas Group has held events across Europe, the United States, Australia and Asia,” chairman Roberto Perocchio said in a statement. “Now, for the first time, the renowned ICOMIA World Marinas Conference is going to be held in the eastern Mediterranean. As the connecting link between east and west, Istanbul has a rare advantage in the global marinas industry. The conference promises to be the best to date since our first edition in 1993.”

The theme for the eighth edition of the conference is “Marinas Into the Future.”

In addition to the speakers, the event will be a platform for marina processionals who value the latest marina product developments and innovations. Organizers said the Istanbul location will offer an ideal opportunity for people to network with fellow marina professionals.

The main topics will be the state of the global marina industry and the emerging markets of the Eastern Mediterranean, Black Sea, Middle East, Asia and South America.

Breakout sessions will provide delegates with the opportunity to learn about and discuss marina management and operational practices, revenue maximization concepts and the benefits of marina classification.

Delegates are being encouraged to enjoy visiting Istanbul. A Bosphorus Wining & Dining Cruise is included in the conference fee of 680 euros (510 euros for ICOMIA members) if booked before the end of February.

There also will be marina tours and an entertaining partner and family program. The conference is being held in the Swissôtel Bosphorus.

A significant discount rate has been secured for all WMC delegates at the hotel. Booking can be made via the delegate registration form online.
