Stratos manufacturing could shift to Arkansas

Wood Manufacturing president Randy Hopper says the production of Stratos boats could be relocated to the Flippin, Ark., plant where Ranger is built, according to an article in the Baxter Bulletin newspaper.

Platinum Equity, the new owner of Ranger and several other former Genmar brands, said Tuesday Randy Hopper would continue to serve as president of Wood Manufacturing and would oversee Ranger Boats, Stratos Boats and Champion.

Wood Manufacturing will be managed independently from the other brands, Platinum said.

Statos boats are currently manufactured in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
