Structural Composites given congressional honor

Structural Composites was awarded the Congressional Medal of Merit this week by Rep. Bill Posey, R-Fla.

The Rising Star Award recognizes Structural Composites’ recent advances in cost-effective, lightweight boat, bus and RV structures, along with the company’s strong commitment to developing technology on Florida’s Space Coast.

”We are honored to receive this very special award,” company president Scott Lewit said in a statement. “I want to recognize the contribution we have received from the Navy technical community and our team members (Advanced Technology International, Brunswick Boats, Lockheed Martin and Zodiac Boats).

“I also want to give special thanks to Gov. Rick Scott and the state of Florida for supporting innovation and job creation through the Florida Institute for the Commercialization of Public Research,” he added.
