The Moorings opens Greece location

The Moorings opened a new base near Athens in Lavrion, Greece, for sailing vacations beginning in June 2011.

The fleet will consist of 39- to 50-foot custom-built monohulls and catamarans from yacht builders Beneteau and Robertson & Caine. The new Athens-Lavrion base joins The Moorings' three existing Greek bases, which are in Athens-Kalamaki, Kos and Lefkas.

"The combination of a welcoming culture, stunning landscapes, beaches, historical sites, superb cuisine and The Moorings' five-star service guarantees our charter guests a memorable vacation beyond compare," said Cheryl Powell, chief operating officer of The Moorings, in a statement. "Our mission is to provide the best cruising grounds in the world to our customers and the addition of this new base illustrates this commitment."
