Thetford Marine wins environmental award

Thetford Marine announced it is a winner of this year's Corp! Going Green Awards in the Green Industry Innovator category.

Five of Thetford's marine care products are Design for the Environment-recognized. Additionally, the company's boat wash was chosen as a staff pick from the BoatU.S. Foundation as the best all-around green product. It also introduced EcoSmart, a full line of EcoLogo-certified holding tank deodorants.

"The EPA holds our products to a higher standard than household cleaners because they're used outside," said Mary Burrows, Ann Arbor, Mich.-based Thetford's manager of chemical development, in a statement. "We're very proud of this award because we thoroughly tested our formulations and were able to maintain the same exceptional performances within the requirements.

Founded in 1998, Corp! is a business magazine with an emphasis on Michigan.
