The second named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season is off the coast of Florida and moving northeast in the Atlantic Ocean.

Tropical Storm Bret, with maximum sustained winds of 50 miles per hour, is about 65 miles north-northwest of Great Abaco Island. A tropical storm warning is in effect for Grand Bahama Island and the Abaco Islands in the northwest Bahamas.

A turn toward the north-northeast is expected later today, and the storm is expected to continue moving away from the U.S. East Coast.
