US Watercraft will build C&C Yachts

Warren, R.I.-based US Watercraft LLC acquired the rights to build C&C Yachts.

US Watercraft bought the exclusive rights to build, develop, distribute and market all new models of the brand from the Tartan Marine Co.

"We are extremely excited to carry on the traditions established by the legendary Canadian boatbuilders who introduced C&C Yachts some 50 years ago,” US Watercraft president Randy Borges said in a statement. “We look forward to building state-of-the-art, beautiful, high-quality and competitively priced C&C sailboats at our 100,000-square-foot facility in Warren, R.I."

US Watercraft plans to begin the production of its new C&C models this fall.

In December, US Watercraft announced its purchase of the Alerion Yachts, True North and North Rip brands from the Pearson Marine Group.

Based in Portsmouth, R.I., US Watercraft is the licensed builder of the J/22, J/24, J/80 and J/105 lines of J/Boats, and the Farr 30 and Farr 40. US Watercraft said it will service and build Alerion, True North and North Rip.

US Watercraft’s acquisition of those three brands included all of the manufacturing assets, including the records and parts necessary to construct the Pearson boat lines and the tooling that can be used to build and service the larger and out-of-production J/Boats and related parts.

The company also entered into a lease on 42,000 square feet of manufacturing and office space at the current Pearson/TPI facility in Warren, R.I.
