The Azimut-Benetti Group invited more than 600 clients from around the world to the Italian luxury yacht builder’s sixth Yachting Gala, held in the coastal city of Portofino.

The event gave guests an exclusive preview of the new Azimut 80 and a chance to toast Benetti, crowning the 140th anniversary celebrations for the oldest Italian yacht yard.

The Yachting Gala was held June 29-30 at Portofino Marina and guests could take part in sea trials and tour a collection of yachts that were on hand. There also were sailing trips and evening celebrations.

As part of the event, the Azimut-Benetti Group invited clients and friends to contribute to the non-profit Operation Smile Italia Onlus Foundation — the Italian division of Operation Smile International — with the goal of raising enough money to help at least 200 children born with facial deformities.

Company executives announced that they raised double their goal and that 420 children will have access to care through the donations.
