The New York Yacht Club’s American Magic team took delivery of its first AC75 foiling monohull sailboat. American Magic will use the boat to begin its campaign as a challenger for the America’s Cup.

Here’s a video of the boat arriving on August 17.

American Magic will be competing in the 36 America’s Cup events, including the Prada Cup and the America’s Cup World Series. If the American Magic team wins the challenger series, it will challenge the current cup holder, Emirates Team New Zealand, in Auckland in 2021.

The Prada Cup will start in January 2021, with challenger teams racing in a round-robin format to determine which team will challenge Emirates Team New Zealand for the America’s Cup.
