VIDEO: Regulator Marine president named NMMA board chairwoman

Regulator Marine president Joan Maxwell was elected chairwoman of the National Marine Manufacturers Association’s board of directors.

Maxwell succeeds past chairman Mark Schwabero, president and chief operating officer of Brunswick Corp.

NMMA board elections were held at the International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition & Conference, which took place Sept. 30-Oct. 2 in Tampa, Fla.

Maxwell, along with her husband, Owen, founded Regulator Marine in 1988, and in her role as president she oversees the direction and growth of the Edenton, N.C.-based boat manufacturer. She is active in the NMMA and has been a board member since 2004.

Syntec Industries president Bill Watters was elected vice chairman.
