VIDEO: Summer Sailstice holding video contest

Organizers of Summer Sailstice, an event that asks sailors to collectively get out and sail on the day of the summer solstice, is asking participants to send sailing stories.

A Summer Sailstice video contest sponsored by Harken will give winners who captured video between June 19 and 21 a chance to enter an up-to-one-minute video for a chance to win a GoPro, Harken gear or other items.

Contestants can enter via Instagram, using #SAILSTICE15. One winner will be selected for the Instagram prize package.

The contest deadline is July 20. Entrants can depict sailing successes or alternatives. This one depicts “a minor sinking.”

“This boat was built, launched and sunk in a day — but tons of fun!” says the Summer Sailstice website.
