Safe boating is an ongoing priority for the marine industry, and that includes stressing the importance of training and education to help boaters avoid accidents.

Prosecutors say the woman in this surveillance video not only struck a bridge, but she also did not do enough to help her injured boyfriend after the accident. The man later died from his injuries.

Marcella Hewett, 50, has been charged with boating under the influence, vessel homicide and tampering with physical evidence, according to an NBC 6 news report.
