WBIP and Kohler settle patent lawsuit

WBIP LLC, an affiliate of Westerbeke Corp., said its litigation with Kohler Co. was settled.

WBIP LLC, an affiliate of Westerbeke Corp., said its litigation with Kohler Co. was settled to the mutual satisfaction of the parties on confidential grounds.

WBIP sued Kohler, alleging infringement of patents earned as a result of Westerbeke’s development of low CO technology incorporated in its low CO gasoline marine generators.

WBIP said it prevailed at trial and after unsuccessful appeals by Kohler to the U.S. Patent Office and the U.S. Court of Appeals.

The companies reached a settlement.
