Manitowoc Marina's lease and assets were recently sold to Manitowoc Marina LLC.

The new management team, headed by industry veteran Rich Larsen, purchased the operation from Sailboats Inc.

Manitowoc Marina is a full-service marina with 235 slips that the city of Manitowoc, Wis., owns. Sailboats Inc. has managed and operated it since 1985. Jack Culley, who has been general manager since 1991, will semi-retire at the end of a six-month transition period.

The new Manitowoc Marina LLC was founded by Larsen, who will be president and general manager. He was operations and service manager at Manitowoc Marina for 18 years before leaving to spend the last five years as vice president and general manager of Yacht Works in Sister Bay, Wis.

“Managing my own marina is the fulfillment of my lifelong ambition,” Larsen said in a statement.
