WoodenBoat School Adds Online Education

The WoodenBoat School in Brooklin, Maine, is adding a subscriber-based video series as part of its curriculum.

Hosted by longtime school director Rich Hilsinger, who has been at the helm for 31 years, the 30- to 60-minute videos cover a variety of topics pertaining to small-craft boatbuilding.

Veteran builders Greg Rossel, Eric Dow and Milo Stanley will join Hilsinger to cover such topics as reading boat plans, laying out and cutting a stem rabbet, steam-bending, spiling planks, wooden spar construction, scarf joints, interior joiner work and building half models, the school said in a statement.

The subscription fee is $50 a year.
