World explorer killed in Florida mogul’s boat crash

A man who climbed Mount Everest was with Florida real estate tycoon Steven Posner Monday when their high-performance boat crashed in Biscayne Bay and killed them both.

Clive Warwick, 60, is remembered as an adventurer and world explorer with at least two circumnavigations and a Mount Everest climb on his adventure resume, according to the Miami Herald.

Born in England, Warwick moved to South Florida in the mid-1980s, traveling abroad extensively. He traveled, his daughter told the Herald, "because he always said that was the best way to know the world - to see it.''

Warwick got to know the Posner family from being a part of the local boating community.

Authorities continue to investigate the deadly boating accident.

The local NBC TV station interviewed a marina owner and racing boat enthusiast who claims it was a mechanical failure, not racing, that led to the boat crash.
