CT Marine Distributor Sales Rep - MESCO

Established Marine Accessory Distributor with over 100 years of success is looking for a competitive field sales representative to manage existing Connecticut sales territory. The successful candidate will source new sales opportunities, qualify prospects, present dealer buying programs, negotiate with customers, and close sales. Experience with boat accessories and/or the recreational marine industry a plus. Competitive compensation program, comprehensive benefits package including company vehicle, expenses, and profit-sharing.

Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Establish, develop, and maintain positive long-term dealer relationships
  • Present, promote and sell products, buying programs, and services
  • Utilize sales tools including samples, merchandising, website support, point of purchase materials, and product literature to increase sales
  • Establish a daily work schedule to call on current and potential dealers
  •  Provide dealers with quotes, write orders, resolve issues, and provide follow up support
  •  Develop a strong technical product knowledge by attending seminars, sales meetings, boat shows, workshops, and reviewing industry publications
  • Participate in networking events and professional trade associations
  • Collect marketplace intelligence on pricing, products, and marketing campaigns
  • Provide feedback on customer needs, field issues, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services
  • Coordinate sales effort with fellow team members, and aid accounts receivable when necessary to keep accounts current


  • Highly motivated with a proven track record in sales
  • Strong knowledge of marine parts and accessories
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and closing skills
  • Prioritizing, time management, and organizational skills
  • Ability to build and manage dealer relationships
  • Microsoft Word and Excel
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent preferred
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Motivation and a passion for sales
