Reporting to the Director of Sales and Marketing, the Customer Service Manager is responsible for the servicing and support of dealers and customers in collaboration with the technical sales and warranty team members. This position directs efforts designed to promote productivity and exceptional customer satisfaction following through to make sure work is completed on time and within quality standards while providing team members with the appropriate training, tools, direction and motivation to enable their success.

What you will do:

  • Communicating directly with dealers and owners, will manage the process of boat warrantees, maintenance, and repairs in a timely manner to ensure high customer satisfaction
  • Determine warranty status and best method of repair; coordinate bringing boats in if necessary
  • Manage returned and exchanged parts by creating RMA’s and tracking until process is complete
  • Review and determine feasibility of claims’ estimates
  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing warranty boats; create job orders; track repairs until boats are moved out; follow up with techs, owners and dealers throughout the process
  • Manage all boat registrations
  • Gather data to create reports regarding open warrantee claims, SRO status, quarterly claims, part orders, open orders, and share with team members
  • Work with dealers to maintain high CSI scores; review customer surveys, and assist marketing in creating review promos
  • Update engineering and production on recurring issues, component problems, and common infield and QC problems
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Sportsman Boats policies and applicable laws including safety, interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Evaluate and revise customer service processes and procedures
  • Execute additional duties and responsibilities as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree in business or management or applicable experience in related field
  • 5 years customer service experience, preferably in the marine industry
  • Prior management experience
  • Excellent negotiation and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Excellent organization skills; multi-tasking and detail oriented
  • Excellent leadership skills and relationship building skills

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bilingual Spanish/English strongly preferred
  • Experience in the marine/boating industry
  • Thorough understanding of boat building processes
