Director of Technical Service-Advanced Systems Group

Advanced Systems Group (ASG) is a newly formed stand-alone division of Brunswick, the world’s largest recreational marine business. We are seeking a Director of Technical Service to join our growing team.

This role will be responsible to develop and execute an ASG Americas Technical Service strategy that will deliver world class support for 13 Advanced Systems Group brands and fully integrated electrical solutions from ASG Connect through an internal team and external service network. Provide leadership to technical service teams to deliver a consistent superior experience across the country and across all customer channels. Collaborate with departments including Customer Service, Engineering, Product Management, Operations and Sales for decisions regarding warranty claims and escalated consumer issues. Create OEM specific videos and content to support integrated electrical systems developed by ASG Connect as well as content and certification programs for Technical Dealers for products like CZone, Mastervolt and MotorGuide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a highly technical and collaborative Technical Service team to deliver unparalleled technical service
  • Meet and exceed (develop and implement where necessary) Key Performance Indicators that reflect our customer’s expectations and continuous improvement
  • Develop and lead a technical product training program with objectives and deliverables for the Americas Marine & Mobile markets
  • Use best-in-class systems and technology to achieve training results to qualify OEMs, Technical Distributors and Dealers to purchase and install designated CZone and Mastervolt product
  • Collaborate with ASG Marketing to produce product application videos and FAQ sheets
  • Provide regular reports to the organization that identify and support product improvement opportunities
  • Provide product support and training to internal departments as needed (i.e. Customer Service and Sales)
  • Collaborate with ASG Quality and Product Management Teams as needed to support product improvement initiatives
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, leadership, guidance, and training to develop direct reports
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical or business field preferred, equivalent experience will be considered
  • 5 + years leading a technical service team
  • 7+ years in a troubleshooting/problem solving role for products of a technical nature
  • Experience integrating teams & systems to ensure highest efficiency
  • Marine electrical product knowledge and industry experience preferred
  • Developed and presented technical training content to groups up to 50 people
  • ABYC Electrical Certification or equivalent preferred
  • NMEA Certification or equivalent preferred

  • Strong business acumen, excellent analytical skills with solid understanding of impact of decisions on business results

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software
  • Results oriented, with a high level of dependability, urgency and integrity

Work Environment

  • Travel may be required to support trade shows, training events, and key customer visits
