Marine Diesel Technician-Precision Marine Center
Precision Marine Center is seeking a qualified and experienced marine technician familiar with gasoline or diesel applications to join our ever growing team of elite technicians. Based in New Rochelle, NY., Precision Marine is the premier New York metropolitan area marine engine service center. We service primarily inboard & I/O applications, as well as pod and jet drive platforms. As an authorized dealer for Volvo Penta, Cummins and Yanmar among others, we service boats both on-site at our waterfront facility as well as along the northern shoreline of the Western Long Island Sound. Job Purpose:
To maintain engine operation by performing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements; correcting any deficiencies; making adjustments and alignments; keeping record of services performed on each vessel.
Duties:
- Determine engine condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts, performing repairs as required.
- Completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion; completing winterization & commissioning procedures.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Must have the ability to work both independently and as a team member. Proper hand tools required along with a technical understanding of engine operation. Attention to detail is a must as well as dependability, thoroughness, verbal communication and documentation skills. General boat & marine systems knowledge is a must; Competence and experience with electronic diagnostic tools such as VODIA & Insight is a major plus.
Salary/Benefits:
We offer a VERY competitive salary that is commensurate with employee experience, ranging from $65,000 to $100,000 per year, health insurance, factory & industry training, retirement plan, paid vacation and a great environment to work in.
