West Coast Technical Sales Representative - Propspeed

To support the growth in this territory and further drive the business to new heights, we are seeking an experienced, driven, self-starting sales and technical representative for the West Coast USA, AK, WA, OR, CA, HI and Baja Mexico, and Canada markets to represent our industry-leading product line.

The successful candidates will demonstrate excellent selling, communication, negotiation, relationship building and networking skills. The ideal individual will be motivated by continuous improvement and solutions-based problem solving with a focus on driving sales growth with new business and commercial contracts. Main duties and responsibilities:

1. Indirect and direct sale of products to commercial operators, distributors, shipyards, boatyards, boat builders, prop shops, boat dealerships, retailers and other aftermarket repair business.
2. Develop a robust, high converting sales pipeline of new opportunities in the commercial and recreational sectors
3. Conduct frequent visits to prospects and customers to grow business by understanding how to support our customers to be successful
4. Familiarity with commercial regulations and the ability to strategically position Propspeed in regards to relevant legislation
5. Find, develop and win contracts/tenders with commercial operators
6. Confidant and willing to present to naval architects, purchases, engineers, and vessel owners/operators that resonates with the audience and delivers results
7. Maintain and grow positive business relationships with existing key customers and new customers for long-term industry partnerships
8. Ensure positive resolution of technical and service enquires to maximize customer satisfaction.
9. Provide frequent online and in-person sales and technical training/demos to distributors and customers.
10. Excellent management and responsiveness of CRM, sales pipelines, monthly reporting, forecasting and other key sales-based company initiatives.
11. Manage all in territory industry events such as trade shows, distributor shows, association events and regional events.
12. Work in a team environment to fully utilize internal company assets and resources, as well as, outside resources when responding to customers and developing business.
13. Coordinate sales and marketing strategy with other regions and departments within the organization.

16. Responsible for year over year sales growth as set by VP of Sales Americas

Experience and Education Required:

Must Have

· 3-5 years of previous sales experience in the marine industry
· Excellent selling and negotiation skills
· Knowledge and understanding of value proposition, contract/tender process, presentations, marketing, value-based questioning and listening skills
· Excellent key account management experience
· Strong oral and written communication skills with a priority on responsiveness
· Experiences work independently with remote team
· Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and CRM system
· Solutions based attitude with a strong drive and self-starting mentality

Nice to Have

· Experience with marine coatings, the boat yard business and marine distribution. 
· Strong planning and organizational skills
· Excellent networking skills
· Strong Zoom and in person presentation and training skills

Travel and Physical Requirements:

The role requires constant travel to customers, which frequently includes overnight travel and extended driving time to customer site. Additionally the role requires the ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and perform hands on applications of technical coatings in environments that require on their feet, stretching, bending or kneeling for hours under a boat.
