Rep. Rick Crawford, R-Ark., visited Bass Cat and Yar-Craft as part of the STEM education and manufacturing tour throughout the first district of Arkansas.

Crawford’s tour, in partnership with the Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics Education Coalition, is an effort to explore the various educational and career opportunities available to students who are proficient in STEM resources by getting local teachers into the workplaces of regional employers.

A group of 15 local educators — mostly high school but also some middle school and college level — chamber members, and industry leaders across the region joined Crawford for a tour of Bass Cat and Yar-Craft’s manufacturing facility, followed by discussions with company president Rick Pierce.

“We always enjoy having Congressman Crawford visit as he is very engaging,” Pierce said in a statement. “Congressman Crawford takes action towards initiatives that are right for the country and that is always refreshing.”
