Azimut Benetti held its first Yacht Master Asia, a two-day conference and workshop session for superyacht and megayacht captains in Hong Kong.

Yacht Master Asia is part of the company’s new “Year-long Yacht Master” project, which seeks to keep the community in constant communication before and after the event and through workshops and training sessions.

“Year-long Yacht Master” is composed of three major events that aim to extend the presence to a global scale 12 months a year, with local meetings in Asia (2015) and the United States (2016), in addition to the European Azimut-Benetti Yacht Master as the main event, from Feb. 3-6. Minor events will be held offseason from September to May.

"After the great success of Yacht Master in Europe and the U.S., last November we were in Hong Kong to welcome the first edition of Yacht Master Asia,” Benetti Asia marketing manager and event organizer Natalie Ye said in a statement.

The first day of the event was at the Kee Club in Hong Kong for a full-day conference, Ye said, followed by dinner at the Italian restaurant Carbone. The second day consisted of team-building activities at Gold Coast Yacht and Country Club, where a few Benetti yachts were lined up.

“As Benetti, we welcome all the superyacht captains, chief engineers, surveyors, owner's reps to join our events and share the joy with sponsors/partners, also yachting media in the region participating to witness the success,” Ye said.
