Azimut Benetti held its 2016-17 Yachtmaster conference at the Mayfair Hotel & Spa in Miami in May.

The event brought together more than 90 participants, including more than 30 captains and crewmembers, marine industry professionals and sponsors.

The two-day program offered conferences, workshops, meetings with sponsor companies and opportunities for exchanging views.

Three workshops focused on crew management, media relations and privacy protection. Conference sessions also looked at practical issues, including crew documentation. At the final event a live interview session was held with experienced captains, including Anthony Nicholls of the M/Y Andiamo.

A day organized jointly with the Professional Yachting Association focused on stewards/stewardesses, and crews took part in workshops designed to provide more comprehensive training on service standards, presentation, care and maintenance services and team building.

“This is the third Yachtmaster held in the USA, and we are extremely satisfied both with the high turnout of professionals and the active participation of captains and sponsors during the various working sessions and entertainment activities,” Yachtmaster program coordinator Paolo Caccavallo said in a statement.

“Yachtmaster has a mission to create a solid community of key influencers who interact both with the Benetti shipyard and our partners, and the consolidation of their sense of team spirit was clear to see during this U.S. event. In just two years since the new program was launched we have achieved and exceeded all our goals and the mission we set for ourselves.”
