Beneteau Group reports fiscal first-half results

The Beneteau Group said it grew faster than its markets in the first half of its fiscal year, with good sales momentum in the boat sector — particularly in Europe.

Revenue was up 15.9 percent, to 291.2 million euros, or about $332.9 million.

The group anticipates growth in the boating segment to be 12 percent, with growth primarily from better than expected performance in the European market, which offset lower growth in the U.S. market and weakness of the South American and Asian markets.

Current operating results for the boat business amounted to a 33.8 million euro loss, compared with a loss of 35.6 million at the end of February 2015, and were affected by non-recurring items, including commercial litigation, the company reported.
