Beneteau USA unveils marketing app

Jester Communications announced that Beneteau USA is one of the first customers to take advantage of its new "Personal Marketing Experience" smart mobile device application for boatbuilders and their dealers.

The pre-loaded app includes information on boat models such as specifications, video galleries, virtual tours, dealer information, company information and a geo-based dealer locator.

Based on Beneteau USA's success with the app, Beneteau Powerboats America asked Jestercom to develop an app for its powerboat lines, the company said.

The new app will include features similar to Beneteau USA's sailboats app, as well as enhanced functionality with an added suite of sales tools for dealers, incorporating brochures, spec sheets, sea trial reports, videos, equipment lists, upgrades, press articles and releases, competitive analysis and links to learning resources.

"The [app] is designed to serve as a virtual extension of the sales team by turning popular mobile devices into selling tools, enabling prospects to view featured models and company information right on the dealership showroom floor or while walking around a trade show," said Jared Jester, founder and president of Jestercom, in a statement.

"If potential buyers are interested in receiving more information, they can fill out a contact form on the iPad, for example, and the dealer can e-mail them relevant information right on the spot," he added. "Their contact information is automatically saved in a lead database, making it simple for the dealer to follow up and maintain communication during the sales process."

Jestercom has been working within the marine industry for more than five years and has developed websites and multimedia solutions for companies such as Beneteau, Chaparral, Mariah, Monterey, Robalo and Sea Fox.
