Italy-based Benetti Yachts, which built wooden boats when it was established by Lorenzo Benetti in 1873, is celebrating its 140th anniversary with nearly 300 boats and yachts built.

Today, Benetti Yachts is part of the Azimut-Benetti Group and has three production sites — Viareggio, Livorno and Fano in Italy — as well as offices in Livorno, Fort Lauderdale, Dubai and Hong Kong. The company has 34 yachts under construction, including a 90-meter megayacht, roughly 295 feet.

Benetti designs and produces three product lines: Class — 93 to 145 feet; Custom — steel and aluminum megayachts over 155 feet; and Grande by Benetti — semicustom yachts from 100 to 140 feet.

“This year will not only be the 140th anniversary of Benetti, it will be also the 10th anniversary of the acquisition of the Livorno Shipyard bought from the Orlando family,” Benetti CEO Ing Vincenzo said in a statement. “We plan a dense calendar of events culminating next June in Portofino with a very exclusive weekend together with our clients from all over the world.”
