Bertram Yacht announces organizational changes


Bertram Yacht named Don Smith vice president of sales with oversight of domestic and international markets.

Smith has more than 27 years of experience in the marine industry and was most recently vice president of sales at Cabo Yachts, where he has spent the last four years. Smith previously held senior management positions at MarineMax and Galati, managing select retail sales operations on the West Coast of Florida.

Smith was referred to the Bertram organization by Don Jones, who will now focus on international markets as director of international sales. Jones, who has 10 years of experience at Bertram and 30 years in the industry, will work directly with Smith. Smith and Jones will be based at the Bertram Yacht Sales Center in Fort Lauderdale.

Seth Flippen was named sales support manager at Bertram and will relocate to the company’s new plant in Merritt Island, Fla. Flippen will work closely with Smith and Jones as the key liaison with the factory and production operations.

Geney Menendez was promoted to lead the aftersales service, customer care and warranty programs at Bertram for the domestic and international markets. Menendez has been with Bertram since 2002 and has considerable experience with the Bertram brand. In addition to directly managing the Bertram service program, Menendez will have direct responsibility for developing and managing a network of service partners in North America and the international markets.

“We are confident that this new organization will considerably strengthen the Bertram sales and service program for our Bertram clients,” company president Alton Herndon said in a statement.
