Boston Whaler to roll out new iPhone app

Boston Whaler owners soon will have immediate access to information, thanks to a new iPhone application under development for introduction this spring.

“The Unsinkable iPhone app features a wide range of useful tools for Whaler owners and enthusiasts alike,” Boston Whaler vice president of sales, marketing and customer service Jeff Vaugn said in a statement. “It can help boaters locate the nearest ramp and even allow them to find the nearest servicing Whaler dealer for emergency technical assistance or local knowledge.”

Other tools of the application include links to local weather forecasts and tides, Whaler events and rendezvous, and access to Boston Whaler’s social networking sites.

Additionally, critical components of the Boston Whaler website, including all model information, videos and photos, are designed for easy viewing via iPhone and iPad.

“Boston Whaler strives to be innovative and on the cutting edge of boatbuilding technology and consumer interaction,” Vaughn said. “Through this new technology we’re able to provide our owners, fans, dealers and prospective buyers with a fast, easy way to access all of the information they’re after — a portal into the Whaler lifestyle right in the palm of their hands.”
