Bombardier Recreational Products is launching a new Evinrude E-TEC promotion to boost retail sales.

The "More Time on the Water Sales Event," which kicked off April 20 and ends June 30, offers a five-year BRP factory-backed warranty, special consumer financing options, and a cash-back credit of up to $500. As an optional incentive, consumers can choose special financing and up to $1,000 cash back in lieu of the extended warranty.

Evinrude E-TEC outboards from 40 hp and up qualify for the promotion.

"We are designing our programs to make the buying process easier for consumers and drive dealer traffic," said Roch Lambert, vice president and general manager of the Ski-Doo, Sea-Doo and Evinrude division, in a statement.

"BRP has been very diligent in working with our banking partners to provide financing options, which up to now has been a barrier to purchase," he said. "We have packaged these buying incentives to take away the purchase barriers we've been experiencing in this down economy."

The More Time on the Water Sales Event is part of the company's 2009 marketing program, which includes the new www.repowerwithevinrude.com micro site. There is also a sweepstakes, offered through the micro site, whereby consumers can enter for a chance to win a new Evinrude E-TEC engine.
