After a 45-year run in the marine industry, Bruce Van Wagoner is retiring, effective immediately.

Van Wagoner has led Wells Fargo’s Distribution Finance team for the last 31 years and was critical in growing the robust marine lending team at DF, which now serves thousands of dealers and manufacturers. According to Wells Fargo, DF provided $43 billion in financing to more than 30,000 dealers and more than 1,200 distributors and manufacturers last year.

“To our dealers and manufacturers: I am grateful for the success we shared. The Wells Fargo team demonstrates consistent dedication to our customers and for doing the job the right way,” said Van Wagoner in a statement. “Above all, what I’m most proud of is the long-term customer relationships we’ve built which have strengthened our market position and elevated industry professionalism.”

Chad Lyon has been selected to led DF’s team; he has more than a decade of experience in the marine group and had led its electronics and appliances business since 2016.

“Bruce leads by example, and I greatly respect the impact he’s made on the industry and his team,” said Lyon. “I’m excited to be joining the Marine group once again...to meet the evolving business needs of our marine dealers and manufacturers.”
