Brunswick Corp. promoted Lenn Scholz to president of Lund Boats, taking over for Dirk Hyde, who was promoted to president of the Aluminum Boat Group, Brunswick said in a statement.

“Both Dirk and Lenn bring a tremendous amount of experience and leadership capabilities to their new roles and are well-positioned to lead Lund and the Aluminum Boat Group portfolio for the long term,” Brunswick Boat Group president Aine Denari said in the statement. “I look forward to supporting their continued success as they execute on our strategic growth strategy.”

Scholz has been with Brunswick for 25 years, most recently as Boston Whaler’s vice president of product development and engineering. He also led the Boat Group’s Technology Center in Edgewater, Fla.

“The Lund brand has a strong reputation for performance and quality, and I look forward to continuing to deliver the same high-level experiences our loyal consumers have come to know and expect,” Scholz said.

Hyde has held a variety of leadership positions with Brunswick for more than 30 years, including COO of Attwood and president of Crestliner, Harris and Cypress Cay. He had been president of Lund since 2009, overseeing its New York Mills, Minn., operation, which the Minneapolis Star Tribune named a Top 150 Workplace in 2019 and 2020.

“Lund is one of the most recognizable brands in the marine industry, and it has been an honor to lead the team for the past 12 years,” Hyde said. “I am excited for the opportunity to step into this new role and am confident in Lenn’s ability to continue the Lund tradition.”
